Living in Lakeland

The neighborhood, honestly

Lakeland is the city in the middle: an hour to Tampa, an hour to Orlando, and a downtown that has grown into one of Florida's most livable. Lake Morton and Lake Hollingsworth anchor historic neighborhoods, and Florida Southern College holds the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings anywhere.

The historic districts around Lake Morton and Lake Hollingsworth offer 1920s homes at a fraction of coastal prices. South Lakeland's newer subdivisions and the golf communities near Grasslands draw families, and the Polk Parkway makes the commute in either direction realistic.

  • Historic lakefront neighborhoods around Lake Morton and Hollingsworth
  • Newer South Lakeland subdivisions and golf communities
  • A revitalized downtown with a Saturday farmers market
  • Under an hour to both Tampa and Orlando
